Day 2…

Okay…so on day two the seas were really rough, it was highly windy, and a bit rainy at times… Nothing much got done during the day except, buying a book, taking a couple of naps, and getting ready for the formal dinner above. Yes, Bob and Robert did perform in a private reception prior to dinner… Tomorrow we’ll be getting into the Port of San Juan, so hopefully the weather will cooperate, and I will be able to get you some more exciting pictures… Oh, and because the seas were so rough, people were droping like flies during dinner due to sea-sickness, which meant there was more than plenty of food to go around…

Day 3..

Arrived in the port of San Juan and found an AWESOME liitle brewpub that was about five months old. Spent the afternoon sampling the brews made by brewmaster Brad Mortensen, which were all very nice. Upon leaving, and on my way back to the ship, I slipped going down the hill on some wet coblestone. This is where the story gets “really” good. Upon looking at my wrist laying on the stone limp-like at a 45 degree angle to the rest of my arm, I quickly picked it up, pulled it out and stuck it back in place… Needless to say, the ships doctor couldn’t put me back together and suggested that I seek treatment in US territory rather than some place else on our next stop. My belongings were gathered and I was quickly hustled off of the ship and taken to a nearby hospital by the Port Authority, since an ambulance would have taken too long, and then the ship departed for it’s next stop without me… 🙁

Anyway, after spending a better part of the night in the ER, I left with a “temp” cast until an orthopetic doctor could put me back together in the morning, and now I had to find a place to sleep at midnight… Sounds like fun doesn’t it???

Day 4…

No pictues yet, but after spending five hours in the ER today, and finally getting an ortho doc, he numbed me up, pulled on my hand, and put the radial tip of my forearm back into its original location. I’m trying to see what makes sense right now: 1) fly out and catch up with the ship after I see the doctor in the morning, 2) stay here until (at the latest) Sunday, and/or 3) fly back to Fort Lauderdale at some point to catch my flight home on Sunday afternoon… Also, typing with one hand sucks…
