Hoppy — Politique de cookies
We are committed to transparency in the collection and processing of your data when you use the Hoppy App (“App”) or visit our websites, like www.hoppy.app (“Website”).
This cookie policy is designed to inform you about our cookie practices and provide you with the tools and resources to manage them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are ‘cookies’? Are there different types?
Cookies are pieces of text stored on your computer or mobile by your web browser. They are basically a tool that stores information about website visits, recognises you and your preferences each time you visit Hoppy, and ensures website functionality and enables us to provide the services our members request. Cookies may also help to protect Hoppy and its users by enabling security features.
There are different types of cookies, each designed to fulfil a particular function, such as improving website performance, remembering your preferences, or delivering relevant ads. Some cookies are only used while you’re browsing (session cookies), while others remain stored on your device even after you close your browser (persistent cookies).
2. What other tracking technology do you use?
We may use other tracking technologies like web beacons, tracking URLs, and software development kits (SDKs) in addition to cookies. Web beacons help us identify when content is accessed, tracking URLs provide insights into visitor origins, and SDKs function similarly to cookies within apps. For simplicity, we refer to all these technologies as “cookies” in this policy.
3. What does Hoppy use ‘cookies’ for?
When you visit the publicly available sections of Hoppy, a session ID cookie is placed on your computer that only lasts while you’re visiting. We may also place persistent cookies (also known as local storage devices) on your device, so that Hoppy remembers you and makes your login experience faster and easier. We may use persistent tracking cookies on your mobile device, mainly for security protection purposes, such as to prevent phishers, scammers, unauthorised login attempts, and to help you access your hacked account. We do not use any information whilst you are logged off.
Hoppy’s use of cookies and local storage devices basically falls into the following categories
- cookies related to the performance of the Website, such as analytics that help us determine how our Website is performing and ensuring a smooth and trouble-free experience for our members and visitors;
- cookies related to the functionality of the Website, such as remembering your preferences at log in or your preferred language or allowing you to chat, add photos and message Hoppy users;
- third party cookies which link to other social networks and which you request via social plugins;
- cookies related to advertising and tracking, such as those that help ensure ads are relevant to you and measure the effectiveness of our marketing efforts.
Hoppy uses cookies and local storage devices so that we know who you are, what interests you have and so that you can do the things online that you want to do, like chat with new people and share your content knowing that your data will be secure. Below is a table to explain Hoppy’s cookie functions and why they’re used.
